Back!!!

Hey hey, I'm back in action. I'm still feeling a little bit queasy- and that's only when I look at my new clothes for some reason- but it's much much better. Thanks so much for your concern, girls!!!

So anyways, I'm trying to find the, er, "cure" for the typical short lashes on a lot of monolids. Like mine, they're short, soft, and they point downwards naturally instead of curling upwards. Not to say that these lashes aren't beautiful, but I'd love the effect of having it look fabulously volumized and lengthened. My best friend who has the most asian face ever has ridiculously long eyelashes (I'm so jealous =P) so whose to say that aren't plenty of asian women out there with beautiful lashes =)

I heard about these two mascaras, Fiberwig and Magiclash, which in case you haven't heard 'cause you're a caveman like me, is a sort of mascara that adds little microscopic fibers to your lashes to make them look like falsies. Some reviews say it's amazingly awesome and some say it's okay. The pictures look a little skeptical 'cause the lashes seem all clumpy and freaky, but hey, I'm open for anything. Anyways, has anyone tried this out yet? How did you like it?

----------------------------------------------------------------

So the first day back to school was, surprisingly nice. I woke up this morning, slammed my hand on my alarm clock and stayed in bed for another twenty-two minutes. I hate getting up in the morning. I think that has to be my least favorite part of life, aside from rapists and a few bird species. I went to school, realized I'm screwed 'cause I still haven't written anything on my research paper which is due to two weeks, continued my hatred for my Latin teacher who's a tyrant living alone with nine cats, and went home. But I had fun 'cause I needed to see my friends. Hahaha =)

I'm putting a halt on "EXTREEEMMMEEE MAKEUP" blogging 'cause I haven't had the time to do anything except buy a new blush at a really cheap beauty shop in Queens. I'll write about that later. Right now I wanna sleep =P. But before that, random picture time!

Went to a party, found a picture that survived haha

At a sweet sixteen with a friend, same guy from blogger pic =P. He's great with the camera.

Bleh. But Freebies!

I feel sick. And queasy. And nauseous. Anyone know any home remedies for this? Anyways, I woke up yesterday at 4 A.M. and threw up three times (eww...).

My dad said, "you were born healthy, so you'll get healthy" and my mom insisted it was a fever, but my temperature wasn't up and all I felt like doing was throwing up again. After watching some Chinese DVD about a love story or something-which was surprisingly good- and a little of The Incredibles on ABC Family, I tried eating and then instantly wanted to throw up again. Roooooar. So all I ate yesterday was part of a bagel and some grapes.

I kept drifting in and out of sleep and then finally I crawled into bed. Every time I stood up I felt nauseous and instantly sat back down. But now I feel a little better. The feeling's still there, but not as intense. Anyways, I still have that term paper to write... I get back to school in less than three days... -sniff-

Charlotte Russe!

So I went to the mall today and unfortunately, in my limited amount of time, was only able to get four articles of clothing. Four things might sound normal to you, but I get to go to the mall like, once every three months, so this is a big deal. =P

And like a true blogger, I'll show you what I got! I got this really cute tank shirt that's nautical-themed in preparation for Spring. I also got this adorable top that's cream-colored, with tiny dots decorating it and a really bright, contrasting red bow. The third shirt I got is this blue, button-up shirt that bunches up in the middle to make a slimming illusion. Then I went kind of bold and got an animal-print shirt that sort of hangs off your shoulders, real-80's style that you put over a shirt and some black tights. I'm not a huge fan of animal print, but I wanted to try
something different. Plus, it was on saaaale.

Then I got jeans. WooT. I love me some jeans, haha. These were 30 bucks. I was a little concerned, but I managed to convince myself to get them. I haven't gotten a pair in a longgg time.
I'm going back tomorrow with some friends, but I'll probably be cash-less and not in the mood to shop. I've got a ten-paged term paper to do on Prostitution in Thailand and I just went to the New York Public Library to get some research done. That didn't come out too well, but hey, it's progress =). Anyone know anything about my topic?

Products

So I stopped into this really cheap beauty shop in Queens one Saturday and saw this little rack of different eyeshadows by Nicka. Each palette (two eyeshadows) costed two dollars so I said what the hell and bought one that looked interesting. And Lord behold, it's magnificent. The eyeshadow's great quality and very pigmented; when you apply some on the brush you can already see how rich the texture is. It's really suprising and I absolutely love it. I've gotta go back and get more now =DD.

I find that Revlon has got to be one of the best brands for lipglosses. They have this line called "Super Lustrous" lipglosses and it's awesome, it's got SPF 15 and a big variety of shades. The colors are beautiful and they're not sticky. Well, after a while they get a little sticky, but the color stays on very long. If you're like me and you have a habit of smacking your lips together, I suggest you get something by Revlon because your lips retain the color after the shine. I didn't really like their "Colorstay Overtime Sheer" which is a two-sided almost lipstick-color; one side is the color and the other is the gloss (the one all the way to the left in the picture) only because the gloss lasted twenty minutes and the color side had a funky smell. But the shade lasted sooooo long. Here's some pictures:

Sheer Petal Lipcolor (810)- Revlon: Colorstay Overtime

"Shine That Pink" Lipgloss (060), by Revlon (very similar to Sheer Petal)

Nude Luster (040) Lipgloss

Nude Luster gloss, Shine That Pink gloss, Sheer Petal color
Nude Luster's my favorite because it's only a hiiiint of color and it's perfect for applying any time of the day or night.
*Tip: don't apply chapstick before putting on lipgloss; chapstick causes your lips to peel so it'll look like a hot mess if dry skin is coming off as you're applying your gloss =(

Basic Smokey Eye

So this is my work-in-progress. What I still need to do is smooth out the edges, put on foundation, maybe find a better blush and get a more vivid white-ish color. But for now this is my basic smokey-eye look using only two colors: white and black. I love love love this lipgloss, it's Revlon in "Shine That Pink", it's really a beautiful color. I'll show some swatches of my two favorite Revlon lipglosses on the next post.

Eyes:
-Clinique Superbalanced Makeup (Base)
-White and Black Eyeshadow from the Icing, by Claire's
-Revlon Colorstay Eyeliner in black
-Revlon Luxurious Lengths Mascara ('cause I couldn't find my others)

Face:
-Peek-A-Blush Sheer Powder Cheek Color by Flirt in "Oh Please!"

Lips:
Revlon "Shine That Pink" Lipgloss

Anyways, the base I used for this look was Clinique Superbalanced Makeup Base which is suprisingly awesome. I would definitely recommend this if you can't get ahold of any MAC Paint Pots or Urban Decay Primer Potion. It's about twenty-bucks online and you only need a bit each time. I shake the bottle, take a little from the top with my ring finger and dab it across my eyelids and lash line. It keeps my eyeshadow on really well so that at the end of the day, nothing changes.

For the eyeshadows, I used a palette I got on sale before Christmas: Icing by Claire's. These colors are good in terms of shimmer and they're pretty pigmented (well, some are). I'm impressed by the rose and brown colors, but not really anything else. The case for the eyeshadows isn't very sturdy; the top of mine came off the third week, but I cary this everywhere I go because it's got almost every color I wear. And the neutral colors are pretty fantastic. Maybe I'll do a review on this, but waaaay later. Right now it's really dirty so don't mind the awful picture.

This look was used with the minimum amount of products; I'm not big on foundation and my mom stole a lot of my stuff this morning =P. Maybe the next look will have more of an official feel to it. But right now I gotta go plan what I'm doing this Thursday (SHOPPING!!!!) Peace!

Clinique Moisturizer

How much do I love Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel? Enough to write about it. It's great for my skin, especially since I get pretty oily and it's very light, so I don't feel it afterwards. It also doesn't cause me to break out, which is great. It's called a "gel" I guess because it moisturizes, but doesn't add unnecessary oils that make you feel squirmy from the all that stuff on your face.

I just squirt two-three pumps and gently rub it in my face every morning; night time I like to add a heavier moisturizer so my skin can revitalize while I'm sleeping. Unfortunately, it's $23. But I think it's a pretty good investment and there's a ton of it in the bottle, so it's worth it. If you've got oily skin and you're afraid of moisturizers, buy Clinique's Moisturizing Gel. =)

The freaky thing about my skin though is that it'll get pretty oily pretty much on the majority of my face, but there are always a few spots that get really dry, like right around my mouth or the inner corner of my eye (freeeaaaky). So I'll treat those areas specifically with a heavier moisturizer during the day and night. Currently I'm using Olay for that, but I don't like it that much because it causes me to break out. The smell is a little overbearing too and it lays down the oily real heavy -shudder-. So I have to go out and find a better one =(.

Ah, Spring

Spring's rolling around the corner (the-er- cold, cold corner) and stores are already puttin' out all that you need to see for the year's springtime trends. It's all about femininity, volume, and prints. You'll see a lot of vivid colors that are fit for springtime and a bit of men's fashion, like suit-jackets, suspenders, and hats. I find it really flirty and fun, it's totally all about playing up the female figure. But then again, when doesn't fashion do that?

Nautical trends are also coming back in! Take a nice striped shirt and maybe some white jeans paired with great, eye-catching pumps. Or maybe a tunic with sensually puffed-out sleeves and some leggings- that's a great look already. When in doubt, I go to Forever 21 (my all-time favorite store) and check out what they've got. Or Charlotte Russe which I can't live without. Play with colors and shapes; take a pale orange and contrast it with a bright red clutch or some black leggings under a nice blouse with soft frills. You really can't go wrong with tunics.

My list of things to get:

This sweater cardigan from Forever 21

Coffee Shop Single Breasted Bubble Hem Trench Coat (in White) - Nordstrom

Rivet Flats from Charlotte Russe
